Scott Guthery

Scott B. Guthery, Ph.D., holds over fifty US patents in cryptography, digital security, embedded systems, and AI.  His career spans Bell Labs, Schlumberger, Microsoft, HID, In-Q-Tel, and the co-founding of Mobile-Mind. Dr. Guthery has authored over ten books on smart cards, mobile, embedded systems development, and the history of mathematics and technology. His latest book is Unfettered Invention: How the X Patents Sparked Early American Technology, co-authored with Julie Burke and Michael Risch. He is the founder and publisher of Docent Press.
