Kylea Taylor, M.S., LMFT (CA MFC #34901), has spent four decades at the edge of consciousness work, from kundalini yoga to addiction recovery to the front lines of psychedelic-assisted therapy. She is the author of The Ethics of Caring: Finding Right Relationship with Clients (2017) and Peer Consultation Groups and Ethical Awareness Tools for Psychedelic Practitioners (2024), and the creator of InnerEthics®, a self-reflective, self-compassionate approach to ethical practice for therapists and practitioners, especially those working with people in profound states of consciousness.

Level 2 offers 20 CEs through live classes and Peer Consultation Groups, where participants practice InnerEthics® Ethical Awareness Tools on real, ethically challenging situations.

Kylea’s courses can also be taken individually to earn CEs for reading each of her ethics books or to learn about the capacities needed for Dual/Multiple professional relationship or skills and tools to support clients through profound experiences.

In 1984, Kylea began ongoing study with Christina and Stanislav Grof in transpersonal psychology and non-ordinary states of consciousness. She is a certified Holotropic Breathwork® Practitioner and served as a Senior Trainer in the Grof Transpersonal Training from 1993 to 2000, assisting Stan Grof at workshops around the world and presenting her own work at conferences in the United States and abroad.

Before this, Kylea worked as a counselor in addiction recovery and spent sixteen years as executive director of a community counseling center. She has extensive personal and professional experience with addiction, post-traumatic stress and dissociation (including multiplicity and DID), women’s issues, spiritual emergence(y), and kundalini phenomena.

Kylea’s ethics books are available in print, audio, and Kindle, with Kindle editions in French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish. Her essay collection on Holotropic Breathwork® is available in print, and she is the editor of Exploring Holotropic Breathwork, a collection of early field reports from Holotropic Breathwork® practitioners. These reports have direct relevance to today’s psychedelic-assisted therapy field. The Holotropic Breathwork Facilitator’s Manual is available only to those enrolled in the Grof Transpersonal Training.

Kylea served seventeen years on the Board of the Association for Holotropic Breathwork® International, and two years as Ethics Chair on the Board of the Santa Cruz County chapter of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
