Marc Iverson

Marc Iverson published his first two novels shortly after leaving a career in the United States Navy. Marc graduated from the University of Southern California with a BA in History and received his commission as an Ensign in 1978. Marc's first assignment was aboard the USS John Young (DD-973). His 10 years of active military service included eight years of sea duty during which he was deployed to the Persian Gulf at the height of the 1987 Iran/Iraq tanker war as Combat Systems Officer aboard the USS Rentz (FFG-46).

After attaining the rank of Lt. Commander, Marc joined the Navy Reserve in 1988 in order to pursue his second great interest as an author. He achieved the rare triumph of having his very first novel, Persian Horse - A Novel of War in the Gulf, published in hardcover by Orion Books in 1991. The Naval Institute's Proceedings called Persian Horse the work of an author "at the top of his field." He followed up this success with his second novel, Firestorm, in 1992.

Never hesitating to strike out in new directions, in 1999 Marc joined the financial management firm of Merrill Lynch and rose quickly to become a trusted and respected financial advisor. He remained in the Navy Reserve until his retirement as a Commander in 2000.
