Anthony Dew has devoted almost fifty years to designing, making and restoring wooden rocking-horses and is recognised as a leading expert on both the practice and history of the craft. He founded The Rocking Horse Shop which specialises in all aspects of the iconic plaything.

Making a rocking-horse that will be loved and enjoyed by your children and grandchildren is a source of very special satisfaction. Anthony Dew’s plans - ranging from extremely simple projects for beginners to ambitious fully carved steeds - have encouraged over 50,000 people to have a go.

Anthony Dew has published over twenty different rocking-horse designs, written half a dozen books on the subject and, in 1999, founded The Guild of Rocking-Horse Makers which now has eighteen hundred members in many countries around the world.
