Rick Furmanek

Rick Furmanek is an award-winning nature photographer, adjunct instructor, and writer. Originally from Oklahoma, he holds a Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago and has served in a variety of pastoral roles throughout his life. After returning from Russia in the 1990s, he worked for Apple Computer before resuming ministry and teaching. For nearly a decade, Rick has taught in Grand Canyon University’s College of Theology.

Rick and his wife, Robin, live in the desert Southwest, where they raised their two grown children. An avid explorer of the American Southwest for more than thirty years, Rick’s photography is deeply shaped by the desert light. He is the author of four books, with a memoir forthcoming.
