Grace Bauer's most recent book is Unholy Heart: New and Selected Poems (University of Nebraska/Backwaters Press, 2021). Previous books include MEAN/TIME, Nowhere All At Once, Retreats & Recognitions, Beholding Eye, and The Women At The Well, as well as several chapbooks. She also co-edited(with Julie Kane) two anthologies-- Nasty Women Poets: An Unapologetic Anthology of Subversive Verse and Umpteen Ways of Looking at a Possum: Critical & Creative Responses to Everette Maddox. Grace's poems, essays, and stories have appeared in numerous anthologies and journals. She's been awarded an Academy of American Poets Prize, the Idaho Poetry Prize, the Society of Midland Authors Book of the Year Award, as well as Individual Artists Fellowships from the Virginia Arts Council and the Nebraska Arts Council, and several awards for her teaching. She is the Aaron Douglas Emerita Professor of English & Creative Writing at the University of Nebraska and teaches workshops and does manuscript consultations through Larksong Writers Group.
