David Jackson

David Jackson was born in Tripoli Libya and lived in Egypt as a young child, whilst his father as an Army officer, was posted there. He has written several papers for medical journals during his career and collaborated with the Germans to produce an 'Illustrated Glossary of Hand and Reconstructive Surgery', before embarking on his memoir, 'Surgeon in the Raw', an AWARD-WINNING READ: 2021 B.R.A.G. MEDALLION HONOREE. In 2024 he and his wife released a harrowing novel-like account of the long-term emotional abuse they and their children were subjected to at the hands of Jackson's ex-wife, entitled, ‘The Blue Marble: A Story of Betrayal, Abuse and Parental Alienation’.

David has a 40-year medical career behind him as a surgeon both in the NHS and Army. He retired from practice in 2012 and divides his time between the Shropshire hills and the mountains of southern Spain.

He has dealt with some of the bloodiest and most gruesome injuries, especially whilst serving in the Army and has dodged bullets and bombs across the globe in the line of duty, yet he will shy away from dealing with the dead mice and birds that his cat brings home.
