Daron Acemoglu

Daron Acemoglu is an economist and Institute Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), widely recognized as one of the most influential and frequently cited economists in the world. He is the winner of the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel in 2024 (with Co-Laureates Simon Johnson and James A. Robinson), and has authored several books, including New York Times bestseller Why Nations Fail (with James Robinson), The Narrow Corridor (with James Robinson), Power and Progress: Our Thousand-Year Struggle over Technology and Prosperity (with Simon Johnson), and What Happened to Liberal Democracy?
