Michael Grice is a retired U. S. Marine artillery officer who has been an active essayist since the late 1990s. In addition to writing "On Gunnery", he has been published over 40 times in a half dozen periodicals and professional military journals. He is the recipient of the Roy S. Geiger, Harold W. Chase, and Robert E. Hogaboom writing awards as well as numerous other writing awards from the Marine Corps Association's Marine Corps Gazette and the Field Artillery Association's Field Artillery Journal. He and his family reside in Encinitas, California. He continues to write for various publications and is working on several other books.
