Jon Ripslinger taught high school English in public schools for 35 years and faced nearly 10,000 students. His teaching also included summer school, night school, and Palmer Junior College classes. By the time he left the classroom, he had poured over an untold number of student themes, essays, and journals and listened to hundreds of personal student stories; his mind bulged with first-hand knowledge of student angst and family secrets. Armed with a new computer, reams of blank paper, and tons of ideas, Jon set about to begin a new career: young adult novelist. The result has been 10 published YA novels: Triangle; How I Fell in Love & Learned to Shot Free Throws; Derailed; Last Kiss; The Hustle; Missing Pieces; Who Is Lori Darling?; The Weight of Guilt;. A Frayed Web; and Desperate. When not crafting another teen novel, Jon enjoys reading, collecting music from 1920s-1950s, playing pool, and being with his family.
