John C. Holbert

John C Holbert is a church pastor, long-time teacher, and committed researcher in the fields of Hebrew Bible and Homiletics. All nine of his published books, along with numerous articles, attempt to bridge the gaps between these two areas of study. He has preached and taught in over 1000 churches in 40 states and 20 countries. In addition, he writes a weekly article on the Hebrew Bible lectionary texts for the site Patheos under the Preacher Portal of the site. He taught at Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas,Texas for 33 years, serving for the last 15 of those years as Lois Craddock Perkins Professor of Homiletics. He retired in June, 2012 from full-time teaching.
