Hello readers!

Thank you for visiting my author page.

I have had the privilege in my career of being able to create and consolidate knowledge and share it with others via research, teaching and writing. But I began my working life (many, many years ago) in a fish and chip shop, and since then I have learnt quite a lot from experience. Besides selling in small and large companies, I have been a marketer, a consultant, managed an academic department and made some contributions in the public sector, including Chairing the UK Sales Board. I have used all of that in the way I approach training, education, doing research and compiling case studies of best practice.

The modern business world is so competitive and so buffeted by change that we all need to keep up to date with all kinds of knowledge, as well as leveraging all the experience and intuition we have. I hope you find my books easy to read, informative and thought-provoking. Many readers have been kind enough to leave reviews explaining how they have used the books.

Recently, I have been particularly proud to be lead author of the textbook to accompany the L4+ apprenticeship standard for sales (Selling Professionally) which I hope will help many young people joining the sales profession.
