Crosswords shaped my life. According to my Dad I inherited the gene from his father, who got hooked on solving when puzzles arrived in 1920s London. The passion skipped my father and I discovered it through Will Weng's crosswords in The NY Times. Maleska published my first puzzle when I was a grad student on June 18, 1978, and that put me on an exciting and fun career path that stretches until this very moment.
