James A. Casada

I am a son of N. C.'s Great Smokies who grew up hunting, fishing, and reveling in the outdoors in my highland homeland. After 25 years as a university history professor, I retired from the academic world to devote full time to writing. I have written, edited, or contributed to scores of books on subjects such as fly fishing, turkey hunting, wild fish and game cookery, sporting history, and related topics. I write a regular newspaper column for the Smoky Mountain Times and a column for Carolina Mountain Life magazine, serve as Editor at Large for Sporting Classics magazine, and my byline appears often in regional and national publications. I am the winner of scores of awards for my writing and a member of two fly fishing halls of fame. I offer frequent seminars and related presentations on my areas of expertise. Much fuller information on my background, along with an opportunity to sign up to receive my free monthly e-newsletter, is available on my website, www.jimcasadaoutdoors.com.
