Howard J. Blumenthal

Howard Blumenthal is best known as the cocreator and producer of the public television series for children and teenagers, Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? He is a longtime media executive, strategist, producer and writer, who now focuses on growing up, learning, and primary/secondary education for children and teenagers all over the world. Howard has conducted interviews with hundreds of children, teenagers and teachers, all over the world; their plans for the future became the basis for this book. Previously, Howard was a Senior Vice President with a division of Hearst and a division of Bertelsmann, a public television CEO, and led several television production companies that made programs for Food Network, Nickelodeon, HBO, History Channel, and other networks. He is the co-founder of a new cultural history project at The Strong National Museum of Play, and among the founders of MTV. He has written more than 20 books, including the best-selling This Business of Television.
