R. M. Koster

I began writing fiction at age 17. Four years later, sick of having my stories rejected, I began writing novels. The first six were rejected unanimously by all the better publishers in the U.S. and Britain. By then I was 35 but pigheaded as ever. My seventh novel was not only published but nominated for a national prize. I have since published four other novels and am writing one now. Meanwhile I have had careers as a university professor, journalist, and politician. I have also been married for 54 years to the same woman. She and I live in Panama, where I went as a soldier in 1957.
