Mark Francis

Mark Francis is a landscape architect and urban designer trained at Harvard, MIT and UC Berkeley. His work is focused on spatial democracy including the theory and design of urban and community landscapes. He works at the intersections of landscape architecture, environmental psychology, geography, art, and urban design to explore the design and meaning of built and natural places. He is Professor Emeritus at the University of California, Davis and an elected Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects, Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture, and Institute for Urban Design.
