Anne Brooks is a bestselling author of psychological thrillers and Southern suspense, known for stories where buried secrets, complicated relationships, and the darker side of small-town life collide.

Her debut novel, A Lost Woman, became a bestseller in Psychological Thrillers and Southern Fiction and received an Honorable Mention from the New York Book Festival. Her newest novel, A Girl in the Water, returns readers to the South with a twist-filled story of murder, family loyalty, and a truth that has been waiting decades to surface.

Beyond writing her own novels, Anne has spent more than six years in the publishing industry working with authors from manuscript development through publication. She is also the host of the Debut Writers podcast and founder of Brooks StoryHouse, where she helps writers develop their stories and navigate the publishing world.

Anne has spoken at publishing and writing events across the country and was named Best Author in Inweekly’s 2026 Best of the Coast.
