John Gatta

John Gatta (Notre Dame, B.A.; Cornell, Ph. D) is Emeritus Professor of English both at the University of Connecticut, Storrs and the University of the South, Sewanee, where he served for a time as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. He has also taught at the University of Missouri, as a Fulbright lecturer in Senegal, and in South Africa. His teaching and research have been devoted to theological topics (including ecotheology), to American literary history and environmental literature, and to the interplay between religious faith and literary imagination. He is the author of diverse articles and of seven books, four of which address “green” topics.
