David Hoyle

David Hoyle is a Governance Cartographer whose work explores the structures and assumptions that shape organisational and institutional life, making sense of the hidden patterns that lie beneath. A retired quality‑management professional, he is the author of the ISO 9000 Quality Systems Handbook, now in its seventh edition and widely used by practitioners, educators, and standards developers around the world. He brings a systems‑thinking perspective to the fractures between what leaders say and do and what others assume they say and do. Working independently, he maps these conceptual terrains to expose misalignments in political, institutional, and commercial foundations, with his published work continuing to influence thinking in standards and governance.
