All I write has God in mind, with the intent of magnifying His wonder in the eyes of those who read what He gives me to write.

Much of what I write is intended for an audience of those in or around the game of golf. That means, the illustrations are flavored for golfers, or people who know golfers, or people who think like golfers. (You'll find much of this material, including the Links Daily Devotional, at www.linksplayers.com.) My writing, however, is accessible to anyone, and I often hear, "I'm not even a golfer, but I read your devotional every day."

In 2015, I was diagnosed with a large liposarcoma in my neck and chest. Chemo, radiation, and two surgeries later it was gone... for 15 months. It showed up again near my heart in late 2017 and required another surgery and more chemo. In mid-2019, here it came again, so I am in the midst of immunotherapy to wipe it out, should God will. Some of this story--and the story of the many people God gave me to help me along the way--is told in my book, My Hundred Helpers.

I am absurdly happily married and have three sons and a daughter-in-law.
