Troy A. Rutter

Troy Rutter writes about youth sports from both sides of the experience: what it’s like for kids living it, and what it looks like for parents trying to navigate it.

He is the author of Kids in the Biz: A Hollywood Handbook for Parents and continues to write practical, real-world guidance for families, including his upcoming work on Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) in youth athletics.

In addition to his nonfiction, Troy is currently developing a series of middle-grade sports novels focused on the emotional realities young athletes face: pressure, fairness, identity, and the moments where kids are forced to grow up faster than those around them.

Drawing from his experience as a coach and mentor, his work centers on stories and insights that feel real, grounded, and honest to the way kids actually experience sports today.
