Richard M. Wielkiewicz

Richard M. Wielkiewicz is a Professor of Psychology at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University in central Minnesota. He has been teaching statistics for over forty years. Noticing that most college students did not keep their statistics textbook after the course was completed, he saw a need for a short textbook reviewing the main principles of introductory statistics. The result was "A Quick Review of Statistical Thinking," which is now in its second edition. Rich has published scholarly works on a wide variety of topics including leadership, evolutionary psychology, effects of study abroad, lifelong learning, the differential outcomes effect, community psychology, behavior management, conservation psychology, perfectionism, intelligence testing, and learned helplessness. He has written eight books including a pair of fiction works on BMX racing.

Richard was a volunteer at Pineview BMX Track in St. Cloud, Minnesota, where his son raced his bike for ten years. Richard searched everywhere for some fiction books on BMX racing so his son would have some entertaining summer reading. Finding nothing, he decided to write something himself. The result was "Okay, Riders, Set 'em Up" and "On the Gate."
