George R. McGhee

George R McGhee is Distinguished Professor of Paleobiology in the Department of Earth & Planetary Sciences at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey. He is also a Member of the Konrad Lorenz Institute for Evolution and Cognition Research in Klosterneuburg, Austria (just outside the city limits of Vienna, to the northwest along the Danube river). He has held research positions at the University of Tuebingen, Germany, the Field Museum of Natural History, Chicago, and the American Museum of Natural History, New York City.

George McGhee lives in Princeton, New Jersey, the last home of the theoretical physicist Albert Einstein -- but McGhee prefers theoretical biology to physics. He and his wife, Marae, frequently travel back to Scotland where he enjoys driving on the left side of the road in the mountains of the Gaidhealtachd.
