Ruvinsky is an award-winning writer and filmmaker. He has made several movies ("The Plastic Mile", "Improper Channels", and "Going to Kansas City" among them) and has been involved with television series like "Misfits of Science", "Highlander" and "Myth Quest". His acclaimed debut novel "Dream Keeper" was named to the Los Angeles Times Best Books of the year. He lives in Santa Monica with his wife and partner Alicia. Daughter Jessica and her husband Michael live nearby making most of life walking distance but every very once in a while he and Alicia are overwhelmed by the urge to drive across the country.
