Dr. Matthew Greene is President of Matthew Greene Educational Consulting, LLC, and works in affiliation with Howard Greene & Associates. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Dartmouth College (1990) where he majored in history modified with government. He joined Howard Greene & Associates in 1997 after earning both his Master’s Degree in Public Policy and his Doctorate in Political Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Matthew counsels families on secondary school, college, and graduate school admission, as well as career planning, in Connecticut, New York, nationally, and internationally.
Matthew is the author of Learning about School Violence, and is co-author with Howard Greene of the books in the Greenes’ Guides to Educational Planning series. Over the years, they have written regularly for Knight Ridder-Tribune News Service and University Business Magazine, and now CollegeBoundNews. Matthew and Howard co-hosted two PBS television programs, “Ten Steps to College with the Greenes” and “Paying for College with the Greenes.” Their latest book is a third edition of "The Hidden Ivies" (HarperCollins, 2016). Matthew is a frequent presenter on educational planning and college admissions, and is trained in mediation and conflict resolution techniques. He has appeared in People and Bloomberg Magazine, and is frequently interviewed on educational issues by such news media as the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, News 12 Connecticut, and NPR radio programs. He also presents educational planning sessions for Tuesday’s Children, the Parents League, CollegeWeekLive, public libraries, and other organizations.
