Words have always been my friend. They were the promise of permanence in my nomadic childhood and fleeting relationships; they have been constancy, humor, and hope in the adult world that promises none of that. And they continue to give me space, reflection, and growth.

As an educator in the amazing world of theatre, words continued to influence my life both in the classroom and onstage. In retirement, I finally have the opportunity to write my own words and share a lifetime of experiences mingled with a dramatic imagination. My stories begin with truth and finish with illusion.

Borrowed Things is a mix of memoir and fiction, and only I know the full truth of it.
