Seth C. Kalichman

I am a Clinical-Community Psychologist and Professor of Psychology at the University of Connecticut. I have dedicated my career to preventing the spread of HIV and improving the health of people living with HIV/AIDS. My research program is focused in the southeastern United States and South Africa. I am also the Editor of AIDS and Behavior, a leading social and behavioral science peer-reviewed journal published by Springer Nature. My latest book is the second edition of Denying AIDS: Conspiracy Theories and Pseudoscience in a Post-COVID World. While the first edition of Denying AIDS was focused on AIDS denialism, the second edition reflects where we are today -- A melding of AIDS and COVID denialism with the anti-vaccine movement as it is personified by the US Secretary of Health and Human Services. The second edition pulls no punches and offers an insider's look at the public health threats of denialism.
