John Hasling

John (Jack) Hasling is the author of a best selling public speaking textbook, The Audience, the Message, the Speaker. He is a retired speech teacher from Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, California, and spends his time writing novels, verses, and children's stories. His most recent volume of light verse. I've Thought Every Thought I Can Think (Outskirts Press, 2010) is a sequel to his earlier book, Footprints On My Tongue. His novels include Hillview, which addresses the social issues of the 1960s and Welcome to the Dunes--a murder mystery at a writers conference. His story book, The Little Rock, has been praised by adults as well as children. He makes the rounds of 3rd and 4th classes telling his stories to kids and talking to parents about the importance of reading aloud to their children. He is a former broadcaster and used to tell stories to kids on an afternoon radio program.
