Mark P. Silverman

Mark P Silverman received a Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from Harvard University and has since pursued studies of the structure of matter, behavior of light, and dynamics of stars. His investigations of quantum phenomena include electron interferometry, atomic beams, and laser and nuclear spectroscopy. Attracted by the beauty of optical phenomena, he has studied the reflection, refraction, diffraction, polarization, and scattering of light. His studies of collapsed stars led to prediction of new classes of stellar end states and insights into the nature of dark matter. Dr Silverman held positions of Jarvis Professor of Physics at Trinity College in the US, Joliot Professor of Physics at the ESPCI in France, Erskine Fellow at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, and Chief Researcher in quantum physics at the Hitachi Advanced Research Laboratory in Japan. He is author of seven books and numerous scientific papers
