Douglas Century

Douglas Century is the author and coauthor of numerous bestselling books including "Hunting El Chapo," "Under and Alone," "Brotherhood of Warriors," "Barney Ross: The Life of a Jewish Fighter," "The Last Boss of Brighton," and "Takedown: The Fall of the Last Mafia Empire." His World War II nonfiction narrative, "No Surrender," coauthored with Chris Edmonds, was the recipient of a 2020 Christopher Award. Born and raised in Canada, Century is a cum laude graduate of Princeton University. A veteran investigative journalist, he has written for The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Billboard, The Globe and Mail (Toronto), and The Guardian.

Century's latest book is "Crash of the Heavens: The Remarkable Story of Hannah Senesh and the Only Military Mission to Rescue Europe's Jews During World War II," published by Avid Reader Press / Simon & Schuster in North America and by Scribe Publications in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.

in February 2026, "Crash of the Heavens" was named Finalist for the 75th National Jewish Book Awards in the category of Biography.
