Sinéad McCoole

My area of interest and expertise is in Irish history and in particular the women who have taken part in the 1916 Rising, War of Independence and Civil War. This is the Decade of Centenaries 2013-2023.

As a Curator I am interested in material culture and have been fortunate to have worked with wonderful publishers and designers - I like the inclusion of lots of images many of my books have been accompanied by exhibitions or documentaries. The finished books are also beautiful objects.

I write my book for specialists but also for those who are coming to the topic for the first time, the history of the period being the backdrop to the biographies.
