David Harrison

David Harrison is a Chartered Engineer, Chartered Manager and Lecturer at Newcastle College University Centre in the North East of England.  He started his career as a Ministry of Defence apprentice at the Royal Small Arms Factory in Enfield where he was trained to be able to manufacture precision components and tooling. Following 35 year career as a Machinist, Design Engineer, Trials & Test Engineer, and Engineering Manager primarily within the Defence Industry, David stepped into teaching.

In his spare time David enjoys sailing up and down the East coast of the UK, and working on the design of a 2 cylinder double acting steam engine, which is intended to be constructed from modern engineering polymers.
