John D. Steinbruner

John D. Steinbruner is Professor of Public Policy at the School of Public Policy at the University of Maryland and Director of the Center for International and Security Studies at Maryland (CISSM). His work has focused on issues of international security and related problems of international policy.

"The Secular Monastery" is Steinbruner's first, self-published fiction novel which presents a political battle over research jurisdiction. Although TSM emerged as an exercise of the author's imagination - coupled with over 30 years experience as an security expert - the lessons derived from the story serve as a warning call.
