T. A. Burton

T. A. Burton (1935- ) taught mathematics for 35 years at Univ. of Alberta, Southern Illinois University, and University of Memphis, with short term appointments at the Univ. of Madrid and Univ. of Florence. During that period he received the AMOCO award as outstanding university teacher, directed 13 doctoral dissertations, was twice a Fulbright Senior Scholar to Hungary. In 1998 he left teaching and has devoted full time to research, writing, and lecturing. He is editor-in-chief or associate editor of numerous mathematical journals and has published some 200 research papers. He resides in Port Angeles, Washington with e-mail address taburton@olypen.com
