Gadi Wolfsfeld

Dr. Gadi Wolfsfeld is a full professor of communication at Reichman University in Herzliya, Israel. Before joining Reichman University, Professor Wolfsfeld held a joint appointment in political science and communication at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In August 2017, Professor Wolfsfeld was awarded the Murray Edelman Lifetime Distinguished Career Award by the Political Communication Association of the American Political Science Association.

Professor Wolfsfeld’s main research interest concerns the role of the media in political conflicts and peace processes. He has eight books and dozens of articles on these topics. Professor Wolfsfeld’s most recent books are as follows. The first (co-authored with Professors Tamir Sheafer and Scott Althaus) is entitled Building Theory in Political Communication: The Politics-Media-Politics Approach" (Oxford University Press). In 2023, the book was awarded the International Journal of Press/Politics Hazel Gaudet-Erskine Best Book Award. The second is entitled Making Sense of Media and Politics: Five Principles in Political Communication (Routledge, 2nd Edition). His latest book is meant for a general audience and is entitled: Cybermadness: The Spread of Lies, Hate, and Violence in the Digital Age.
