Christopher Lukas

After 55 years of making public television documentaries (and winning several Emmy awards) I turned to writing. My first book was DIRECTING FOR FILM & TELEVISION. SILENT GRIEF, a book about those left behind after a family suicide, followed. Next I tackled PROSTATE CANCER, then how people can think about the end of life, in STAYING IN CHARGE.

My next book was BLUE GENES, the story of the suicide of my brother, journalist J. Anthony Lukas, and the genetic disasters in my family.

Then, tired of the real world, I turned to short story writing. CARRYING A TORCH is an Amazon self-published volume of 45 of those stories, two of which won awards. Finally, I wrote SHRINK RAP, a reader-friendly book about psychotherapy in all its forms.

I am a widower, 82 years old, still making documentaries (Pete Seeger is my next one) and enjoying family and friends.
