Rudra Sil

Rudra Sil is Professor of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania where he is also the SAS Director of the Huntsman Program in International Studies and Business. His research interests encompass qualitative methodology, philosophy of social science, Russian/East European studies, Asian studies, comparative labor relations, international development, and general theories of comparative and international politics. Sil is the author, coauthor or coeditor of seven books. He is also author of numerous articles that have appeared in a wide range of journals, including Perspectives on Politics, Journal of Theoretical Politics, Current History, Post-Soviet Affairs, and Studies in Comparative International Development. Sil was born in India, grew up in five different countries, and earned a B.A. (highest honors), M.A., and Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley. He has been teaching at the University of Pennsylvania since 1996. In his non-existent spare time, he likes to ski, travel to new places, harass his kids, and follow cricket matches on the internet.
