Cynthia S. Becker

Cynthia Becker came to love the West through 1950s TV serials. She researches and writes biographies of people who helped shape the West. Her first book, "Chipeta: Queen of the Utes," received the 2004 EVVY Award for best biography. She retold Chipeta's story for middle grade readers in "Chipeta: Ute Peacemaker," which was the Finalist for the 2009 WILLA Literary Award in Children's/YA Fiction and Nonfiction.
