Andy Koopmans

Andy is a writer with numerous publications in small press journals and magazines, in print and online, including Sunshine Noir 2: Writings from San Diego and Tijuana, Fiction International, Central Park, Southern Anthology, Black Scat Review, Catch, Collages & Bricolages, Heaven Bone, and others.

He is the author of two fiction collections: Narrative Cult Visions (MFA thesis, 1997) and The Veronicas of Our Own Perversions (2024)

He is also the author of sixteen non-fiction books published and distributed by Gale/Thompson, Cengage Learning, Simon & Schuster, and others. These include biographies of Bruce Lee, Charles Manson, Pol Pot, and other noteworthy historic and popular culture figures, and histories on topics such as the Leopold & Loeb trial, the development of Blues music, the Harlem Renaissance, and the portrayal of crime and criminals in popular culture.
