Alex Abella

Alex Abella is a Cuban American writer, journalist, screenwriter and labor leader. He is a New York Times Notable Book Author for his first novel, The Killing of the Saints, translated into ten languages and optioned by Paramount Pictures. As a screenwriter he's had deals with Paramount and Disney. As a journalist he was a war correspondent in Central America and won an EMMY award for television news writing. Alex was long listed for the National Book Award for his narrative nonfiction work, Soldiers of Reason: The Rand Corporation and the Rise of the American Empire. A Federal and California certified interpreter, Alex speaks five languages. He founded the California Federation of Interpreters, the largest labor union of its kind in the US. He's married with three children and lives in the Los Angeles area.
