E. Donnall Thomas

A lifelong outdoorsman, Don Thomas has been a pilot, hunting guide, and commercial fisherman as well as a physician, writer, and photographer. The Field Editor for Ducks Unlimited, Editor-at-Large for Retriever Journal, and Co-Editor of Traditional Bowhunter Magazine, he also writes regularly about the outdoors for publications such as Gray's Sporting Journal, Alaska Magazine, Salmon and Steelhead Journal, Big Sky Journal, and Fish Alaska. Although much of his work has focused upon wing-shooting, bowhunting, and fly-fishing, he particularly enjoys writing short fiction and essays on natural history. He and his wife Lori (a dedicated outdoors woman and crucial part of their photographic partnership) divide their time between homes in rural Montana and coastal Alaska.
