Artist Mark Rutkowski has been painting the Art Deco District of Miami Beach for over 30 years. In addition he as created a large body of oils including portraiture and seascapes.
Rutkowski established a permanent studio on Miami Beach in 1992 and in 1998, became artist in residence at Blue Moon Gallery in Ubud, Bali. Since then, The rice terraces of Bali have become his second home. He also maintains a studio in the countryside north of Paris, where he pioneered the use of the Camille Pissarro atelier as a working studio for contemporary artists.
The first portfolio of his work: “South Beach Two Decades of Art Deco District paintings” was published by Schiffer in 2006.
He is the author of an anthology “Mark Rutkowski Poems 2000-2010” and “In a Butterfly's Dream” a novel published in 2013.
He currently lives on Miami Beach where he is working on his second novel “Frightful Tales from the Art Center”.
