John Steckley

I have been teaching at Humber College since 1983, involved in courses such as anthropology, physical anthropology, introduction to sociology and Canada's Native people. My books are typically either textbooks or about Aboriginal people, especially the Wendat (Huron), their language, traditional culture and history. To date, I have published 14 books, and have five others that will be coming out in the next few years. Contrary to popular rumour, I do sleep; it's just that I have so many ideas swirling around my head. The books usually begin with "someone should write" and the someone becomes me. Without my wife Angelika, our parrots and dogs, I would not be able to write any of my books.
