Stephen Wilson

Stephen Wilson is a psychiatrist, critic, writer and translator, who has lived and worked in Oxford, UK, for many years. He is the author of several books including brief biographical studies of the first world war poet Isaac Rosenberg, and Sigmund Freud. In addition he has written The Bloomsbury Book of the Mind, Introducing the Freud Wars, The Cradle of Violence: Essays on Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis and Literature, Poetics of the Diaspora and two collections of poetry, Fluttering Hands and Things Hard for Thought

He has contributed numerous reviews and articles to magazines, journals and newspapers including Encounter, TLS, The Guardian, The Independent, The Poetry Review and New York Times. His translation of Albert Memmi’s Térésa et autres femmes, will be published in spring 2023.
