G. Hussein Rassool

Professor Dr. G. Hussein Rassool is Professor of Islamic Psychology at the Centre for Islamic Studies & Civilisations, Charles Sturt University, Australia. He is Director of Studies in Islamic Psychology, Psychotherapy and Counselling at Al Balagh Academy, Chair of the Al Balagh Institute of Islamic Psychology Research, and Director of Academic and Clinical Affairs at Sakina Way (Online Addiction Service). He also serves as Director of Academic Affairs and Consultant at Yashfeen Psychiatry & Islamic Psychology, Bangladesh, and provides mentorship and supervision at the Mind and Brain Hospital, India. He is a Fellow of the International Association of Islamic Psychology and an Academic Advisor to the South African Institute of Islamic Psychology and Well-Being.

Professor Rassool holds a PhD in Psychology and Education (University of London), an MSc in Health Education, and a BA in Psychology. With over 55 years of experience in psychology, mental health, addiction, and substance misuse, he has held senior academic posts in the UK, served as Visiting Professor in Brazil, and worked with the National Addiction Centre, Maudsley Hospital. He is the author of 34 books and numerous academic papers, and currently practices part-time as an Islāmic psychotherapist.
