Stephanie Young

As a little kid, Stephanie Young loved telling stories. She told so many stories that her mom used to ask her, “Is this a true story or you are just pretending?” Steph’s answer would typically be, “I’m just ‘tending, Mama.”

Throughout her school years, Stephanie wrote ghost stories, fan fiction, and comic strips until finally, she got a degree in creative writing. Her first jobs were in children’s bookstores and libraries as a story time lady.

Other important truths about the author: she won a pancake eating contest, yells “fire in the hole” on roller coaster rides, is devoted to her cat, invents recipes, craves adventure, and most importantly, believes in the power of imagination and writing brave.

Stephanie is an author and comic creator for kids and kids at heart. Currently she writes young adult books and middle grade graphic novels, but you never know what she might write next.
