June Ponte

June Ponte

One of June's earliest memories is one of fascination with her mother's sculptures and watercolors. She grew up hearing stories about her grandfather. Homesick for his native Portugal, her grandfather drew fantastic schooners with a fountain pen on grandmother's white linen tablecloths.

In addition to being an author, June is a fine artist and craftsperson. In addition to the Fun and Simple State Crafts series, June has created crafts for many of Enslow's crafts books written by other authors, and illustrated a number of books for Enslow Publishers.

In the 1990s, the author owned and operated The Funky Urban Renaissance, an art gallery in Hoboken. Since then, June has written articles for Parents Magazine, Weird New Jersey Magazine, and others. Her most recent artwork can be found on Etsy in the MedievalLightCompany shop.
