Here, Destiny weaves tight the fate of three young Portuguese Jews and an older Spanish Gypsy. All must flee the Iberian Inquisition for the New World., but first all must participate in one last act, the rendering of Justice for a murderer. In the sequel to Belmonte, called Joara, the four take part in Spain's first and only attempt to colonize the Mid-Atlantic area of North America. The book, culminates in the destruction of the Spanish Fort of San Juan in the Catawban village of Joara in 1568, and the further adventures of these four survivors in a strange new world.
