Carol was a happily lesbian, rural doctor working in east-coast Australia when a dinner-table discussion precipitated her into becoming an author. The conversation brought home the impact caused by the scant availability of resources for lesbian women (or their doctors). She set out to correct the deficit. The result was the first Australian how-to-do-it book for lesbian women.
Carol's book Woman to Woman: A Guide to Lesbian Sexuality was published by Simon & Schuster in 2002. It sold well in Australia, Europe and the USA, but eventually, it became out of print, and Carol regained the rights to the text and cover.
Over the years, there were many requests for an e-book format. However, recently Carol was prompted by a schoolteacher who asserted that the book was still relevant. Another reader declared that almost all the information contained between the covers of W2W is timeless. Decision made; Ocean Reeve Publishing was commissioned to produce the e-book and print-on-demand paperback released in August 2021.
Carol married her partner in Canada in 2006 (long before same-sex marriage became legal in Australia). She has retired from rural general practice and lives on the Mid-North Coast of New South Wales, where she enjoys watching horses graze, playing the Celtic harp and walking on the beach. She is still writing.
